Caring for Your Gecko –

How to Prepare & Properly Care for Your New Gecko –

Basic Setup to Begin:

• 1x 10-20 gallon long tank
• 2x Dry hide / a dark, enclosed shelter placed inside an aquarium or enclosure to give a gecko a safe place to rest, feel secure and reduce stress.
• 1x Humid hide 
• 1x Food/Water/Calcium Dish
• 1x Under tank heater 
• 1x Thermostat
• Calcium with & without D3 
• Multi vitamins

Housing –

How to set up your tank: 

Use paper towels as substrate, after you’ve established your animal, do your research on what substrate will work best for you. 

On one side of the tank, set up the thermostat prob and under tank heater. Plug the under-tank heater into the thermostat. Have the thermostats prob placed and secured on the inside of the tank on top of where the heater is located. Set your thermostat so the temp where your heater is located reaches between 90-95 degrees. Place your dry hide somewhere over your heater. Place your humid hide in the middle of the tank, not on the hot side of the tank. Food/water/calcium dish place wherever. The humidity doesn’t matter if you keep the substrate in the humid hide moist. The temp of the rest of the tank doesn’t matter if there is a hot side of about 90. 

Breed Specific Tips –

African Fat Tailed Geckos:

Eat Crickets. Dust feeders with calcium and multivitamins

Hot side Temp of about 90-95 degrees. HEAT LIGHTS NOT REQUIRED

Lives 15-12 years, Friendly, and Calm 

Shorter Rounder Bodied

Leopard Geckos: 

Eat Mealworms & Crickets. Dust feeders with calcium and multivitamins 

Hot side temp of about 90-95 degrees. HEAT LIGHTS NOT REQUIRED

Lives 15-20years, Friendly, and Hyper

Longer slender bodied
